Emergencies and Resuscitation

The National Minimum Standards for Independent Health Care (HMSO 2002) stipulate:

C27.3 There is a member of staff on duty at all times trained in basic resuscitation techniques with up-to-date training on an annual basis. Proof of attendance at this or an equivalent course is likely to be required by the Healthcare Commission, and in due course by the GMC. This module will soon become a mandatory element of our clinical governance.

09.30: Guarding against and managing allergic emergencies. Coping with anaphylaxis and asthma. Safeguarding the airway in allergic swelling.
